As much as I try to keep my readers encouraged in these extraordinary times, I have a tough time keeping my head above water. This blog has given me a purpose, kept me busy and from stewing on what is happening – at least all the time – and kept me encouraged through encouraging others.
That being said, there is a time to spiritually fight through prayer. I found the following verses:
Ephesians 6:14 “Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Zondervan NASB Study Bible note for this verse (for the all caps portion): Character, not brute force, wins the battle, just as in the case of the Messiah.
Psalms 20:8 “They have bowed down and fallen, But we have risen and stood upright.”
Both scriptures refer to the word Stand (or a variation thereof). I watched a cowboy movie (don’t usually like them but this one has made an impression on me to this day) called Quigley Down Under. Spoiler Alert – He was standing at the end of the movie. Let God fight your battles and pray. He will guide. It may not be easy, but He will never leave you. He told me a few years ago that my life would not be easy (the word He used was not as mild), and He was 100% right, as always. And He has never left me.
