Kimos and Journaling

My poem Poet is a kimo – an Israeli type of haiku. It focuses on an single image and has a syllable count of 10-7-6.

Journaling is a type of therapy, especially now when everything we knew is up in the air. Just the act of writing out our frustrations and pain and joys clears the soul. It can be a type of prayer, actually addressing our entries to the Lord. Not everything should be hanging around for posterity. On those occasions when I write what should never be read, I write for catharsis, then shred immediately.

Be blessed on this weekend.
