Day 17

When you hear the word passion you might think of the ardor of lovers, or what you feel about the work that you do. But the word is more multi-faceted.

In Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (whew, what a long title!), one of the more interesting definitions was “nature” or “homeopathy.” In the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, another noticeable definition was “the state or capacity of being acted on by external forces.”

A lesser known definition is suffering. Jesus was so passionate about us, that he followed God’s plan to save us all, dying a cruel death on the cross.
