Got a call from my used-to-be neighbour before she moved to an out-of-state assisted living center. Glad to hear that she is doing great.
I have two books that I have been saving for a rainy day: Walden by H.D. Thoreau and Don Quixote by Cervantes. I am about 1/3 of the way through Walden. I love Thoreau’s dry wit and I think he probably did not have many friends just based on what I am reading. He took pleasure in just listening to nature for hours at a time. I do have to read it with a pocket-sized dictionary beside me for those archaic words.
Chopped brown bananas for the freezer.
The devil is not a slacker when it comes to instilling fear. It is a daily fight. The last time I felt anything near this level of fear was in the 90’s, and this just does not even compare. God does NOT give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Listen to God’s voice and He will tell you what you need to know or send you to other places to hear or see what you need. I kind of forgot that today, but now I am back on track.
